save much of the house structure. |

Village Clerk Gerhardt read a proclamation proclaiming June as Rivers Month. |
|
Bill Kallas, President of Oakbrook Terrace, spoke. He gave a brief background of his |
|
experience in DuPage County and in the Lombard/ |
|
Oakbrook Terrace area. He spoke at length regarding his willingness to be a good |
|
neighbor. |
President Mueller requested Attorney Bayer to conduct five Public Hearings at 7:58 P.M.

Trustee Kufrin reported that there was not a quorum at the meeting of June 2, but that |

the Committee did discuss the downtown improvements grant program. He pointed to |
|
some details which are important to the downtown area. He hoped that the plan would |
|
be ready for the next meeting. |

Walter Wlodek of 5117 Main Street, Downers Grove, Attorney for Mr. Wolak, spoke |

regarding the Statutes concerning dividing the right-of-way. He asked the Board to |
|
discuss with Attorney Bayer the issue of division of right of way. |
|
Attorney Jegen, Attorney for Mr. Chavda owner of the Subway Sandwich Shop, thanked |
|
the staff for their courtesy. He then rebutted Attorney Wlodek's arguments based on |
|
Statutory law. Mr. Jegen cited the fact that Attorney Bayer agrees with his interpretation |
|
of the law. |

expedite the project. |

variations. |

Frank Jochum, Ryder Transportation, 17060 Lathrop, Harvey, explained how they have |
|
attended numerous meetings and are exceedingly anxious to gain occupancy. |
|
Tom Polson, 17060 Lathrop, Harvey, representing Ryder, indicated that he would |
|
answer questions. He did answer question regarding traffic counts and questions |
|
regarding the old oil and storage tanks. |
|
After considerable discussion and questions were answered, the Board outlined the |
|
following conditions for approval: |
|
Item 2 Landscaping in compliance with the plan of April 14 |
|
Item 8 Fencing in compliance with Village Code at the option of adjacent property |
|
owners on East and West property lines |
|
Item 9 Subject to compliance regarding handicapped parking. |
|
Item 10 Ryder Conditional Use to be approved |
|
Item 11 Occupancy may take place immediately, but improvements to be made within |
|
six months |
|
Item 13 To be stricken but "no engine idling between the hours of 10 P.M. and 7 A.M". is |
|

Much discussion was held concerning the Sunset Clause of the Utility Tax. Each |

Trustee gave his position regarding the Sunset Clause and also possibly eliminating the |
|
tax completely. The suggestion was to have staff review sanitary and storm sewer work |
|
and review the program since 1994 to analyze how money is spent. Further discussion |
|
will take place this fall. |
